The pre-twisted fittings play an important role in protecting the safe operation of transmission lines as an important part of transmission lines. The pre-tightening force will be produced because the inner diameter of the pre-twisted fittings is smaller than the diameter of the conductor. In this paper, the equivalent cooling method, the ODB import method and the interference contact method are used to give a pre-tightening force to the tension type pre-twisted fittings with the help of ABAQUS finite element software, and the different working conditions are simulated for a single tension type pre-twisted fittings winding on the wire. Based on the numerical simulations, the influence of different prestressing methods on the fastening performance of the tension type pre-twisted fittings is studied. The results show that the maximum stress appears at the end of the load exerted by the tension type pre-twisted fittings. Moreover, the precise interference in the interference method gradually decreases with the increase of the pitch, and the cooling value set by the cooling method decreases. Furthermore, no matter what working condition, the simulation grip value of the tension type pre-twisted fittings is the maximum while the cooling method is used, which provides reference value for the simulation of pre-stress.
